About Me

In 2022 I retired from my counselling career. I am now updating my website to post pictures of what I am doing now.

A potted history of my work life – 1969 I started nurse training in Cheltenham and then continued training in Cheltenham to become a midwife. I worked as a hospital and then Community Midwife first in Birmingham and then in Warwick and Stratford upon Avon, a career I loved. I really enjoyed working with women, building a trusting relationship and helping them safely deliver their babies. In 1999 I retrained at the University of Warwick to become a Person-Centred Counsellor. For several years I worked in a local hospice, developing a Childhood Bereavement Service. I then started private practice in my Therapy Shed and worked for years longer than I anticipated until breast cancer and Covid hit. These two events prompted me to retire and do things I had never had time to do before.

What I have never done before is update my website! This may take some time…
